The Tripartite Forum was established in 1997 as a partnership of the three governmental bodies in order to facilitate good faith consultations and negotiations around treaty rights and other issues impacting the lives of all Nova Scotia Mi’kmaq. Their shared vision is “to build a foundation for prosperous and vibrant Mi’kmaw communities through partnership, commitment, and respect.” The Forum has established seven working committees to address a range of issues from health and education to economic development and justice, with each committee comprised of representatives from all three levels of government.
