2000 - Gelulg Glusuaqan, Gisiteget Agnutmugsi’gw, the New Testament in Mi’kmaq, is released by the Canadian Bible Society

In 2000, the Canadian Bible Society released Gelulg Glusuaqan, Gisiteget Agnutmugsi’gw, a translation of the New Testament into the Mi’kmaq dialect spoken in Quebec. The publication was the result of a long-term project that lasted nearly 30 years, led by Baptist missionaries Watson and Marilyn Williams, who worked working in collaboration with local members of the Indigenous community to develop Mi’kmaq language resources as well as translated Scriptures.
