God,
We thank you for those leaders who’ve gone before us. For those who travelled far and wide to minister to others. For those who had a vision for your Church and the Baptist denomination in Nova Scotia and pursued that vision with passion. For those who dedicated their lives to walking with Indigenous neighbours and learning to see creation from another perspective. For those who rallied others to action in order to further your mission and reflect your heart for justice in this world.
We learn from their dedicated efforts while recognizing that they were imperfect people, like we all are. We pray that you would give us boldness and vision, as you did for them, as we lead in the contexts in which you have placed us. We pray for your guidance for all who are leading in ministry, whether ordained or lay persons, in Canada and beyond. Help us learn to walk well, with intercultural insight, as we experience the beautiful, diverse world around us. Draw us closer to you and endow us with humility and wisdom as we seek to follow you today and in the days to come.
This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Lord.
Amen.
