Mrs. Sherelle Cotecson
Adjunct, NAIITS

Sherelle Cotecson hails from Mindanao, an island in southern Philippines that is home to over forty indigenous people groups. She joined Tribal Mission Foundation Int’l Inc (TMFII) two years after obtaining her Bachelors in Theology – Major in Missions degree. She is currently in the board of TMFII’s after serving the organization in various leadership roles throughout the years. Community leaders and workers largely identify her with the organization’s community development and training programs. She has been involved in training and mentoring community members in transformational development work as well as raising and mobilizing support for different community development projects.

Sherelle’s more than two decades of service in TMFII brought her to experience the joys and challenges of development work in numerous indigenous communities in Mindanao. Having had years of experience in grass roots community work and a Masters in Intercultural Studies, Sherelle might be considered an expert in cross cultural transactions.

Sherelle would be the first to say though that her years as a cross cultural worker is a journey she has been taking with the Lord fully conscious of her incompetence.

The Asset Based paradigm and practice is one constant in how Sherelle engages with community and other cross-cultural interactions. She has co-facilitated this training in the Philippines and other Southeast Asian countries.
