Shawna has been dedicated to the students of Acadia Divinity College since 2007.  She began her journey as the Assistant to the Registrar and Communications Liaison, and in 2008, she advanced to the role of Registrar and Manager of Student Services.  In June 2024, she was appointed as the Director of Student Services. Shawna is committed to providing students with the essential resources and support necessary for a thriving educational experience. As a key contact for both onsite and online students, she is responsible for developing extracurricular experience, assessing student progress, and advising those who need support on their program progression. Additionally, she serves as the editor of ADC Today, the alumni magazine of Acadia Divinity College.

Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Shawna has had the privilege of working at two of her alma maters in the Maritime Provinces. She served as the Director of Recruitment and Admissions at Crandall University and as the Senior Writer of Public Affairs at Acadia University. In 2007, she joined the Faculty of Theology at Acadia Divinity College. Shawna has also been active as a layperson in churches across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, contributing to worship arts.

Outside of her professional responsibilities, Shawna is a passionate runner, biker, and outdoor enthusiast. She allows her creativity to flow in her photography and in her oil paintings.

Shawna holds an Associate of Arts from Crandall University (formerly Atlantic Baptist College), a Bachelor of Arts from Acadia University, and a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University.
