Dr. Glen Berry joined Acadia Divinity College in January 2022 as part-time Advisor on Mental Health Pastoral Education and Adjunct Faculty in Pastoral Care. In July 2023, he was appointed to faculty as the William and Virginia Leach Associate Professor of Pastoral Psychology, and as the Director of the Charles J. Taylor Centre for Chapliancy and Spiritual Care.
Glen is well equipped for this position having worked as a clinical psychologist in the Annapolis Valley since 1994, both at the outpatient community mental health clinic and at the psychiatry unit at Valley Regional Hospital (VRH). Glen has experience as an educator, both at the VRH and at Acadia University – serving as academic supervisor and clinical supervisor, as well as teaching several courses for the Psychology Department and ADC. He has a strong interest in helping pastors better understand mental health issues and mental illness, as well as building community within and around church families.
Glen is researching the needs of ministry students with respect to training in pastoral care and counselling, and teaching courses in pastoral care, counselling, as well as pastoral self-knowledge and personal wellness.
