Dr. Christopher Killacky is Associate Professor of Theology at Acadia University and teaches in the areas of Theology, Ethics, History of Christianity, and New Testament. As Director of Undergraduate Programs, including the Bachelor of Theology program, he is focussed on preparing students for leadership and Christian service. The ordination-track Bachelor of Theology program prepares students for ordained ministry both in the local church and in mission settings. A non-ordination-track degree is also available. Chris has developed the undergraduate program in a way that now attracts many students from other disciplines at Acadia University wishing to take ADC courses to broaden their understanding of the Christian faith.
Chris works with students to grasp and understand patterns from the past so that they can be applied to the present. In his teaching he develops thought and leadership qualities that address the increasingly complex world of society and faith in practical and useful ways. Chris’s vision and excitement in developing global perspectives in our understanding of religion have been greatly enhanced by an international career working in the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada and the USA where he worked with the government sector and for AT&T Government Solutions in Washington D.C. Chris also serves on the leadership team at his local church.
Chris has spoken at a number of international conferences on the topics of theology and technology and holds degrees and post-graduate professional qualifications in Physics, Education & Technology, Church Studies and Theology and is professionally registered as an educationalist by the Province of Nova Scotia and in the United Kingdom. In 2002 he was awarded the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal.
In his spare time Chris is involved in the Wolfville community where he supports local business initiatives, he is a qualified sailor, and he serves on the Board of King’s-Edgehill School.
