Acadia Divinity College (ADC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Samantha West to the role of Recruitment Coordinator effective February 9, 2015.
“I am pleased to welcome Samantha to our Advancement Team as Recruitment Coordinator. She has a strong commitment to Christian ministry and is looking forward to helping potential students discern God’s call on their lives,” says Dr. Harry Gardner, President of Acadia Divinity College.
Samantha West is passionate about the ADC community and ministry, and she sees tremendous potential for outreach and recruiting given the quality of the College’s faculty, staff, and courses. In addition to her upcoming Master of Divinity in May 2015 (Acadia University), Samantha holds a B.A. Spec. Honours degree in English (York University) and an M.A. in English (University of Guelph).
As the Recruitment Coordinator, Samantha will be focused on identifying men and women who are called by God to serve, and exploring with them how ADC can equip them to fulfill that calling. She will work with faculty, denominational leaders, and local churches to come alongside people who are sensing a call from God and support their discernment.
Samantha is familiar with the College as both a student and an employee. She began her studies with ADC in 2011, and joined the staff in a part-time role in September 2014 while she completed her final courses, working as the Assistant to the Development Office.
Samantha is a member of Kentville Baptist Church, where she completed two years of Mentored Ministry and then worked for four months as their part-time Pastor of Visitation and Pastoral Care. Prior to staying home with her children, Samantha worked in recruiting, communications, and technical writing roles for ten years with IBM Canada. She is a certified MBTI® administrator, taught courses in Personality Type, and trained as a Co-Active Coach.
Samantha is married to Chad, and they have two beautiful children, Benjamin and Morgan, in elementary school.
“I fell in love with Acadia Divinity College during my first visit, and I have been looking for ways to contribute to the community ever since. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with such a great group of people, and to support ADC’s mission and God’s work in Atlantic Canada and beyond. I believe there are exciting times ahead for the College, and I look forward to being part of the excellent ministry at ADC.”
