Acadia Divinity College is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Dan Pyke as Director of the Next Generation Ministry Program, effective January 1, 2020. Dan also serves as the Director of Youth & Family Ministries with the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada (CBAC).
The Next Generation Ministry program prepares students to initiate and lead effective witness and innovative ministry to young adults, youth, and children. The program at ADC makes it possible for students to graduate with either a Master of Arts or a Master of Divinity degree with a concentration in Next Generation Ministry, and for all Master of Divinity and Bachelor of Theology students to include courses in youth and children’s ministry in their degree.
A two-time graduate of Acadia University (Master of Divinity ’11 and Master of Arts (Theology) ’12), Dan recently taught the course Evangelism and Discipleship of Youth as an adjunct professor at Acadia Divinity College. Dan has also served as a pastor at CBAC churches: Grand Bay Baptist Church (Grand Bay-Westfield, NB), Douglas Baptist Church (Douglas, NB) and First Cornwallis Baptist Church (Upper Canard, NS). With a passion for youth and children’s ministries, Dan has been active in Tidal Impact, SpringForth, One Conference, and NEXT conference.
“ADC was formative in my development as a pastoral leader. I’m honoured to be joining ADC through its partnership with CBAC and look forward to being involved in shaping Next Generation Ministry leaders. I’m excited to be involved with this program as it aims to prepare leaders for ministry with youth, children, and families.”
Dan, his wife Lachelle, and their four children make their home in Grand Bay-Westfield, NB. As a family, they enjoy exploring nature, camping and hiking.
