Commissioning Service
7:30pm – 9:00pm at Wolfville Baptist Church & Live Online, followed by a light reception (on-site only)
Since 1962, our Commissioning Service has been held for graduating students and is one of the spiritual high points of the school year. It’s our way of sending off the leaving students with love and prayerful support. The departing students are commissioned to fulfill their ministry in Christ’s Church.
If you plan to tune in online, the Commissioning Service will be live-streamed on this event page.
Annual John Gladstone Sermon
Dr. Elie Haddad
Arab Baptist Theological Seminary President
Assistant Professor of Missional Ecclesiology
Born and raised in Lebanon, Dr. Elie Haddad immigrated to Canada towards the end of the civil war in Lebanon in 1990. He worked for 15 years in Toronto as a senior consultant in the area of Information Systems and Management.
During his work, Elie enrolled in a Masters of Theological Studies (MTS) program at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto alongside his involvement with the Middle East Baptist Church in Mississauga where he served as a member of a lay pastoral team.
In 2005, Elie and his wife Mireille felt called to return to Lebanon, where – as global field staff with Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) – Elie joined the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) serving as Provost until 2008 when he became President.
The Annual John Gladstone Sermon is named for the highly regarded Rev. Dr. John Gladstone, Senior Minister at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church in Toronto, where he served between 1965 and 1991.
