Academic Administrator

Acadia Divinity College (ADC) seeks an efficient and effective Academic Administrator to support the Registrar, the Associate Deans, and the Director of Doctoral Studies in a dynamic and engaging environment.

Position TypeTerm Contract. The initial term is for three (3) years. Additional terms may be renewed based on an employment review process.
Work ScheduleThe expected total weekly time commitment will represent an average of 20-25 hours per week. The work schedule will be set at the beginning of the contract through consultation.
LocationThe Academic Administrator will work primarily from an office at Acadia Divinity College in Wolfville.
SupervisorThe Academic Administrator will report to and be accountable to the President through the Associate Dean (curriculum) of Acadia Divinity College.
SalaryTo be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Acadia Divinity College also offers a comprehensive benefit package.

The Role

The Academic Administrator will provide support to the Associate Deans and Registrar by assisting in the preparation of assessment material and reports, managing course-related tasks, overseeing the process for the defense of theses, supporting the curriculum approval process, and producing the Academic Calendar.

The Academic Administrator will provide support to the Director of Doctoral Studies by assisting in program administration and planning, facilitating doctoral directed studies, and organizing candidacy evaluations.

The incumbent will possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Higher education degree or relevant experience
  • High efficiency with the Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Forms, etc.) is a necessity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to function well in a team and as an individual contributor.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience within higher education.
