Theology of Love

Designation: THEO 4213

What is love? How is it connected to such fundamental facets of the human condition as family, sex, religion, justice, and forgiveness? This theology course will engage the topic of love as it relates to perennial dimensions of our human experience, and how our humanity can only be understood through God’s love. This course will set out to define love in its various forms, chart its history from ancient ideas to modern ones, and set out to explore modern Christian contributors to the practice of love.
