History of Christian Missions

Designation: CHUR 6043

This seminar course explores how Christians have sought to spread the good news of Christ around the world from the early church to the present day. Students will consider a variety of paradigms for missions engagement used throughout the history of Christianity, including those of Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestant Christians. Topics considered will include monasticism, colonialism, ecumenism, and world Christianity.

  • Completion of, or concurrent enrolment in, CHUR 5013 Introduction to Christian History
