Dead Sea ScrollsDesignation: BIBL 7113
This course introduces students to the Dead Sea Scrolls and their contribution to our understanding of the world of Jesus and the early Church. The course surveys the Scrolls and related literature of the intertestamental and New Testament periods, including a survey of the history of these periods and the debate surrounding the origin of the Scrolls. The course engages in the study of a number of texts and themes that shed light on Jesus, the Gospels, and Paul.
