Amos and Isaiah

Designation: BIBL 6053

In this course students will study the books of Amos and Isaiah by applying the hermeneutical and exegetical skills learned in BIBL 5023. In addition to the contents, context, and interpretive issues, authorship, date of composition, theology, and social justice issues will also receive attention. This course will provide students with the foundation for preaching, teaching, and further research in Amos, Isaiah, and other prophetic literature.

Recommended Prior Study

  • BIBL 5023 Interpreting the Old Testament
  • Completion of, or simultaneous enrolment in, HEBR 5013 Foundations of Biblical Hebrew 1
