Graduate Certificate in Counselling & Care
The Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Care is an embedded certificate that can only be earned concurrently with the Master of Arts in Theology specialization in Counselling and Spiritual Care, or with the Master of Divinity specialization in Pastoral Care and Counselling.
After (1) completing their degree; (2) satisfying the competency requirements of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA);
and (3) demonstrating their readiness to provide effective and ethical counselling to the satisfaction of the faculty, students will be awarded the certificate by Acadia Divinity College.

- The completion of seven courses in counselling and pastoral care (PACC 5013; PACC 5043; PACC 6053; PACC 6063; PACC 6013; PACC 7123; PACC elective)
- Successful completion of a supervised clinical practicum and seminar (PACC 7073; PACC 7079)
- Core competencies of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) met
- Approval and commendation of ADC’s professor of pastoral psychology
Students who are awarded the Graduate Certificate in Counselling and Care normally receive a CGPA of 3.0 in the courses counted towards the certificate. This certificate is awarded in conjunction with the Master of Arts in Theology (Counselling and Spiritual Care) or the Master of Divinity (Pastoral Care and Counselling).
