Announcing New Fellows at Acadia Divinity College

Acadia Divinity College is pleased to announce the recent appointment of the Rev. Dr. Peter Holmes and the Rev. Dr. Andrew Stirling as Fellows of Acadia Divinity College.

Both Dr. Holmes and Dr. Stirling are graduates of the Acadia Doctor of Ministry program, 2006 and 2010 respectively. They are exemplary in their pastoral ministries particularly known as distinguished preachers and teachers. Dr. Holmes was the 2008 Simpson Lecturer and Dr. Stirling gave the 2010 Annual John Gladstone Sermon at the Commissioning Service. In the Spring 2017, Dr. Stirling will teach a course focused on preaching and worship.

Dr. Harry Gardner stated, “Dr. Peter Holmes and Dr. Andrew Stirling are two fine servants of our Lord. We look forward to continued affiliation with them as Fellows of Acadia Divinity College.

Fellows of Acadia Divinity College

Upon the recommendation of the Faculty of Acadia Divinity College, the Board of Trustees bestows the honorary distinction, Fellow of Acadia Divinity College, on individuals who have distinguished themselves through noteworthy contributions in their own disciplines in theological education and who have contributed significantly to the life and mission of the College.

Previously, the Faculty recognized the following individuals as lifetime Fellows of the College:

  • William H. Brackney, BA, MAR, MA, PhD (deceased November 13, 2022)
  • Alan P.F. Sell, BA, BD, DTh, DD (deceased February 7, 2016)
